My name is Michael Charles. I was born into a military family in Washington D.C. as the oldest of three children. I’ve been fortunate to travel around the world at a young age before my family finally settled in the place that I really call home, Panama City, Florida. While it was fun to finally place my roots somewhere for the first time in my life, I decided to do what any person in my position would do; join the military.

Since joining the U.S. Air Force in 2008, I’ve gotten married to the love of my life, Ashley, and had two beautiful girls, Janiyah and Aria. Currently, I am stationed at Hurlburt Field, Florida.

During my career, I’ve continued to travel and see the world while fulfilling my job as a public affairs specialist. As a public affairs specialist, my job is to develop techniques to communicate the Air Force’s messaging to our internal and external audiences utilizing social media and other mediums to better understand the Department of Defense’s national security objectives. Along my journey, I’ve also had several unique opportunities, including working directly with the USA Basketball Team, coordinating and collaborating with Fortune 500 CEOs and marketing for the U.S. Air Force’s premiere aerial demonstration team, “The Thunderbirds.”

My job has sparked a passion in me to explore different ways that brands communicate messaging to key audiences and enhance my digital literacy.

My blog is aimed at bringing digital awareness to those who aren’t as informed.
